Map of potential geothermal geothermal Germanic Trias Group (COP 10, Tretour 25)

On behalf of the province of Zuid-Holland, IF-Technology conducted the study ‘Potential geothermal energy in Zuid-Holland’, 2 December 2016. This map shows an indication of the number of potential geothermal systems. For this purpose, a grid of 1.5 by 3.0 km (the size corresponding to the space fitting of a geothermal system) was laid over the map and determined the potential per grid based on the potential map Germanic Trias Group. The potency is reflected in the average power (MWt) and the energy quantity (PJ) that can be produced within the grid with a single conventional doublet at a coefficient of performance (COP) of 10 and a return temperature of 25 °C. Geothermal energy is also known as geothermal heat.
