Supporting data for "Chinese academics’ engagement in journal peer review: History, perceptions, practices and future expectations"

This dataset was generated as part of the doctoral research project, which investigates scholars’ participation in peer review across Chinese-language and English-language academic journals. The study explores researchers’ motivations, experiences, and attitudes toward reviewing manuscripts for domestic and international journals. The dataset contains several types of research materials used in the qualitative study. These include the interview invitation letter and the interview protocol that guided the semi-structured interviews conducted for the research. The main body of the dataset consists of interview transcripts from 63 participants, all of whom are academic researchers with experience in journal peer review. In addition, the dataset includes analytical materials developed during the research process, such as coded excerpts and thematic analysis documents derived from the interview data.
