This study aimed to investigate the differences in the microbial community abundance, composition and diversity throughout the soil profiles in soils collected from corn and soybean fields in Iowa, USA. We used a dataset of 16S rRNA amplicons of soil samples that was sequenced on the Illumina MiSeq platform.
