Activity of archival services in France

These statistical data are collected by the Interministerial Service of Archives de France (SIAF) of the Ministry of Culture from public archives services through an annual survey. This dataset concerns **activity from 2019 to 2022** of the following services: 3 services with national competence (National Archives, National Archives of Overseas and National Archives of the World of Labour), 100 departmental archives services, 13 regional archives services and nearly 500 communal and inter-municipal archives services. It is updated annually. Data from previous years (2010-2018) can be downloaded from the Export tab. The indicators cover the following areas: number of services, new archive entries, disposals, preservation, filing, electronic archiving, relations with producers, digitisation, on-site communications, online dissemination, cultural and educational offer, attendance. Some services may not be affected by an indicator (“not applicable”) or may not have communicated the result (“nc”). In addition to the return of the survey in the form of datasets, the SIAF publishes an annual report, Des Archives en France, which presents in a contextualised and illustrated the key data and major events of the activity of the archives services.
