资源简介:
Description  This repository contains a collection of 3D-printable mount designs for integrating on-board sensors onto standard woodworking tools. These mounts are intended for use with the Augmented Carpentry software, an Augmented Reality (AR) assistant for digital manual woodworking tasks. This dataset was originally created by the Laboratory for Timber Construction (IBOIS, EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland. Each mount is designed with a flexible integration mechanism, allowing for the attachment of various clipping solutions. Our reference implementation utilizes magnetic clips and a loc-line arm to ensure secure, tool-safe mounting of the sensors and interfaces and easy removal. However, the design files allow users to incorporate their preferred fastening methods—ranging from simple friction-fit clips to more complex spring-loaded solutions—enabling adaptation to a broad range of tool geometries and user preferences. Data set key features Tool Compatibility: Mounts are tailored to specific tool brands and models, ensuring a reliable, snug fit, and secure sensor placement. Modular Clipping Mechanism: Users can modify or replace them with alternative methods (e.g., snap-fit, bolt-on, adhesive) to best suit their workflows. High-Resolution 3D Printable Files: STL models are optimized for FDM/FFF 3D printing and support a wide range of materials (e.g., PLA, PETG, ABS). Open-Source and Customizable: All mount designs are released under an open license, encouraging further modification, improvement, and community-driven innovation. Naming file convention Each STL file follows the naming convention: ___part.stl     type: Indicates the type of mount or the tool category (e.g., "mount", "sensor-holder").     brand: The woodworking tool brand (e.g., "Makita", "Bosch", "Dewalt").     model-name: The specific model identification of the tool (e.g., "M3700", "1617EVS").     part: Optional additional descriptor if multiple parts are required for a single mount assembly (e.g., "base", "clip", "insert"). For example, a mount designed for a Makita M3700 router might be named: mount_makita_m3700_base.stl mount_makita_m3700_clip.stl Getting started     Identify the corresponding mount file that matches your tool brand and model.     Download and 3D print the STL file(s).     Integrate your desired clipping mechanism (magnetic components included as a reference design in the online documentation).     Attach the completed mount to your woodworking tool.     Download, compile and run Augmented Carpentry for an enhanced, AR-assisted woodworking experience. Contributions and Feedback  We welcome contributions from the community. Feel free to submit pull requests with new mount designs, improvements to existing ones, or suggestions for better clipping methods. Feedback can be provided via the repository’s issue tracker.
