Data from "Key factors influencing post-fire vegetation recovery in Pinus halepensis forests: divergent effects for canopy and shrub species"

The dataset presents the data and the script (in R programming language) that produces the results and figures of the paper "Key factors influencing post-fire vegetation recovery in Pinus halepensis forests: divergent effects for canopy and shrub species". Data were collected between April and May 2021 in a Pinus halepensis forest burnt in a wildfire in June 2019, in the Ribera d'Ebre region (NE Iberian Peninsula). It containts the following files:1_plot_data.csv: contains information about the sampling site characteristics (identification number, Northness index, Pre-fire canopy cover, pre-fire canopy cover category, slope, land use) and post-fire regeneration variables (pine seedling abundance, woody species cover, woody species richness).2_spp_matrix.csv: Species by plot matrix of the most common 33 woody species encountered in the floristic inventories (two transects of 20 m).3_env_vars.csv: environmental variables (retrieved from 1_plot_data.csv) per plot for the Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA).4_sp_strategies_33.csv: fire-related reproductive strategies for the 33 most common woody species inventoried in the field.5_script.R: script for processing and analysing the data presented in this dataset.README.txt: a README file with more detailed information.
