a) Empirical p-values indicating the significance of the over-methylation of active, in-boundary CTCF motifs compared to off-boundary random positions in the genome, computed by means of a permutation test. b) p-values indicating the enrichment of CNA mutations on active in-boundary motifs with respect to off-boundary motis in tumour samples. P-values have been computed using the chi-square test on a P × 2 contingency table, where P is the number of patients. In brackets we report the median size of the CNA-mutated regions for the given cancer.
