根据第二次青藏高原综合科学考察研究任务一专题五(2019QZKK0105)的统一部署,中国气象局成都高原气象研究所承担了2019年6月起珠穆朗玛峰X波段天气雷达观测试验,第一次获得了珠峰地区连续的X波段双偏振天气雷达观测数据。本试验观测使用成都锦江电子系统工程有限公司生产的PR11D(100W)型X波段全固态双偏振天气雷达,采用长短脉冲相结合的水平垂直通道电磁波同时双发双收模式,扫描模式以体积扫描(VOL)为主,伴随部分距离高度扫描(RHI)。该雷达具有时空分辨高,对小降水粒子探测敏感度较高的特点,有较强的(低含水量)云滴、云冰晶粒子探测能力,可探测和识别非球形的冰晶、冰水混合物、雪粒、霰、大雨滴或冰雹的时空结构演变过程。试验观测雷达安装于珠穆朗玛峰北坡(86.95°E,28.36°N,海拔4276m),珠穆朗玛峰位于雷达观测站正南偏西3°附近,珠穆朗玛峰顶距雷达直线距离约40km。根据观测环境的实际情况,雷达设计为6层(5°、7°、8°、10°、12°、19°)体扫,体扫周期约为3.5min,每层体扫采用1000Hz重复频率,转速2转,库长120m(1024个库),脉冲宽度(80:0.4+2us)(80us脉压成0.4us,近区采用2us补盲)。数据集时段:2020-2022,因电力原因存在部分时段缺测。
Under the unified deployment of Task 1, Topic 5 of the Second Tibetan Plateau Scientific Expedition and Research (2019QZKK0105), the Chengdu Institute of Plateau Meteorology, China Meteorological Administration, undertook the X-band weather radar observation experiment on Mount Qomolangma starting from June 2019, and obtained continuous X-band dual-polarization weather radar observation data in the Mount Qomolangma region for the first time. The experiment used the PR11D (100W) X-band all-solid-state dual-polarization weather radar produced by Chengdu Jinjiang Electronic System Engineering Co., Ltd., which adopted the simultaneous dual-transmission and dual-reception mode of horizontal and vertical channel electromagnetic waves combined with long and short pulses. The main scanning mode was volume scan (VOL), supplemented by partial range-height indicator (RHI) scans. This radar features high spatio-temporal resolution and high detection sensitivity for small precipitation particles, with strong detection capability for (low water content) cloud droplets and cloud ice crystals. It can detect and identify the spatio-temporal structural evolution of non-spherical ice crystals, ice-water mixtures, snow grains, graupel, large raindrops or hailstones. The radar for the experiment was installed on the northern slope of Mount Qomolangma (86.95°E, 28.36°N, altitude 4276 m). Mount Qomolangma is located approximately 3° west of south from the radar observation station, and the straight-line distance from the radar to the summit of Mount Qomolangma is about 40 km. According to the actual conditions of the observation environment, the radar was designed with 6-level volume scans (5°, 7°, 8°, 10°, 12°, 19°), with a volume scan cycle of approximately 3.5 minutes. Each volume scan adopted a repetition frequency of 1000 Hz, a rotation speed of 2 revolutions, a gate length of 120 m (1024 gates), and pulse width (80: 0.4 + 2 μs) (80 μs pulse compression to 0.4 μs, with 2 μs for near-range blanking). Dataset time period: 2020–2022, with partial data missing in some periods due to power supply issues.
