Insights into pathogenicity factors of Xanthomonas translucens pathovars via genome sequencing

Cereals crops, specially barley and wheat improvement needs global efforts for overcoming global food security challenges. Bacterial leaf streak caused by different pathovars of Xanthomonas translucens is the most important seed-borne bacterial disease of small grain cereals, which is epidemic lead to a valuable loss in major parts of the world. For better understanding the mechanism of causing BLS and role of TAL-effectors, we sequenced the whole genome of nine highly virulent strains (tested) of both X. translucens pv. translucens and pv. undulosa strains.
