Diversity, Databases, and Discoverability

Keynote presentation for the Des Moines University 2013 Research Symposium (http://www.dmu.edu/event/dmu-research-symposium/). Includes discussion of persistent identifiers (ORCID, ME, DOI, ISNI) with a focus on how individuals can take action to make themselves more discoverable. Case study is a presnetation of the findings of Ginther et al. (2011) on differences in NIH R01 award probability by race and ethncity and how evaluation studies rely on accurate linked data.
