The Effects of Goldenrod Density and Species Richness on the Height of Goldenrod

This dataset was collected on October 15, 2014 and October 22, 2014 at approximately 3:00pm on both dates. A 1m x 1m quadrat was laid out in the York University grassland area where Goldenrods were present. The contents of the quadrat were observed. Three Goldrenrods that were representative of the population within the quadrat were measured, in centimetres, using a transect measuring tape and recorded. The density of Goldenrod was calculated by counting the abundance and diving it by the total area (1m^2) of the quadrat. Once the density was calculated and recorded, the species richness within the quadrat was counted, excluding Goldenrod and Poa. The sampling took place 40 times in the grassland area where Goldenrods were present in order to accurately determine the affect that species richness and Goldenrod density have on the height of Goldenrod.
