CAUSES AND MECHANISMS OF THE DISSEMINATION OF DISTORTIONS IN THE DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT: PLATFORM ALGORITHMS, MEDIA CONSUMPTION, AND TRUST IN "VIDEO-BASED EVIDENCE"

The theses examine systemic causes and mechanisms of information distortion dissemination in the digital environment. Three key determinants are analyzed: platform algorithmic architecture that creates users' illusory competence; transformation of media consumption patterns with the shift to closed communities (media bunkers); epistemological crisis of video evidence in the context of synthetic media proliferation. Drawing on experimental data, it is demonstrated that deepfake warnings do not eliminate the cognitive impact of forged recordings, and source authority serves as a stronger predictor of trust than logical consistency of the message. The conclusion is drawn regarding the formation of a sustainable distortion reproduction ecosystem requiring institutional pedagogical strategies.
