NRS-18012 | Register of licence applications [Deniliquin Court of Petty Sessions]

This series is comprised of one volume from the Deniliquin Court of Petty Sessions which has been entitled, "Applications Book". It contains a record of the various types of applications for licences made to the court and the decisions taken by the Bench for each case.Some of the applications made to the Bench include a publican's general licence, a hawker's and pedler's licence, to have the account of expenses incurred in the poisoning of native dogs verified, extension of licence during Races, to have music and dancing in a licensed house, an auctioneer's district licence, a confectioner's licence, a slaughter licence, a stage carriage licence, and a billiards licence.The columns on each page have been hand-drawn, and labelled as follows: Name of Applicant, Nature of Application, When Lodged, When Considered, Any Other Particulars, and Decision.The last ten pages of the volume contain lists of blankets issued to Aboriginal people at the Deniliquin Court House between 1867 and 1874 [see NRS18501 Lists of blankets issued to Aborigines].
