Overview of the riding trails in the Vogtlandkreis. On public roads and paths, horseback riding and driving by carriage is possible according to the Road Traffic Regulation (StVO) and the uniformly existing traffic rules apply. If a riding trail is marked separately (Section 41(2) No. 5 StVO), it shall be used. Riding and driving on non-public routes is at your own risk. Outside public roads and roads, special regulations apply in addition to the StVO. Forest: Horseback riding in the forest is only permitted on paths designated by the forestry authority and marked accordingly (Section 12(1) of the SächsWaldG). Driving by vehicles and carriages requires the special permission of the forest owner on all forest paths (Section 11(4) of the SächsWaldG). Free landscape: Riding and driving with covered vehicles is only permitted on suitable paths and specially designated areas (Section 28(2) of the SächsNatSchG). Prior to the use of the equestrian trail, a riding badge must be purchased for a fee from the lower forestry authority.
