This dataset contains sunshine duration data for major regions in Qinghai Province, namely Xining, Haidong, Mengyuan, Huangnan, Hainan, Golog, Yushu and Haixi, spanning from 1988 to 2016. The data are derived from two statistical yearbooks: *Qinghai Social and Economic Statistical Yearbook* and *Qinghai Statistical Yearbook*, with its accuracy matching that of the source yearbooks. The data table documents the monthly and annual sunshine duration for these 8 regions in Qinghai. Unit: Hour. This dataset is primarily utilized in geographical and socio-economic research.
