Number of accidents CSI involving at least one railway vehicle transporting dangerous goods. The name RID comes from the international agreements regulating the transport of this type of goods by rail : https://otif.org/en/?page_id=1105CSI or Common Safety Indicators that allow annual monitoring of the general evolution of railway safety and facilitate the evaluation of the achievement of common safety objectives. They are based on European standards and the indicators include significant accidents. A significant accident is any accident involving at least one moving railway vehicle with the following consequences: a dead or seriously injured person, or serious damage (minimum € 150 000) to rolling stock, tracks, other installations or the environment, or significant traffic disturbances (minimum 6 hours in main track).
