资源简介:
The SVLVERT data set contains information on the first Late Triassic
reptiles from Antarctica. Fragmentary Late Triassic vertebrate bones
were recovered from Mt. Dearborn (S77 12.6 E160 08) in Southern
Victoria Land, Antarctica. The bones are from two reptilian taxa. A
small dicynodont synapsid (genus indeterminant) is represented by a
single tusk. Three fragments of limb bone shafts probably belong to a
small eosuchian type diapsid (genus indeterminant).
The bones occur in the Lashly Formation, Member C, which has been
pollen dated as Late Triassic in age. More detailed information can be
found in the Program Abstracts, Gondwana II, Correlations and
Connections, Aug. 25-30, 2002, University of Canterbury, Christchurch,
New Zealand and in the proceeding from the meeting currently in press,
article title: Late Triassic Vertebrate Fossils from Antarctica.
