Initial replication code for "Large indirect income impacts of tropical cyclones shaped by disaster response"

This repository provides an initial replication dataset and code for the submitted manuscript "Large indirect income impacts of tropical cyclones shaped by disaster response." The data required to reproduce the main results is included in the Data/ folder, and the Scripts are included in the Scripts/ folder. Figures will be saved in the Figures/folder. "Run_Analysis_2026.R" runs all of the main regression analyses, "Counterfactuals.py" runs the historical counterfactual analysis shown in Fig. 4, and "TC_Figures_2026.ipynb" plots the final results seen in the manuscript. The analysis may take several hours to run on a standard laptop computer. You can decrease the number of bootstrap iterations in the "Run_Analysis_2026.R" script to substantially speed up the analysis. Required packages in both R (v4.4.2) and Python (v3.12.7) are shown at the top of each script.
