Kinship perspective study on subjects with celiac disease with first-degree non-celiac relatives.. Species-level resolution of the gut microbiota in celiac disease

One hundred and one participants were recruited and assessed for gut microbiota using third-generation technology (ONT), with the aim of sequencing the almost full ribosomal RNA bacterial operon. Regular host covariates of the gut microbiota (sex, age, BMI), aside from a wide range of other host-associated variables (diet), were used to delimit gut microbiota profiles and recover the differential abundance of more than 200 bacterial species detected in faecal samples.
