ChenoBase: Chenopodiaceae GSD in the Catalogue of Life

The idea of ChenoBase is to serve as a concise taxonomic backbone for basic as well as applied scientific studies and is to be including all published names of Chenopodiaceae of any rank worldwide. This release has a focus on the Near East (Flora Iranica region). Future releases will also include references to type material and their location of deposit, vernacular names, and geographic distribution. Database development and maintenance has been done at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the Natural History Museum of Vienna, and the University of Vienna and was partly funded by the European Commission.
