<i>Ormosia semicastrata</i> is an evergreen tree, up to 19 m. The bark is white to dark grayish, and greenish brown to brown; lenticels are convex with irregular cracks. Branchlets pilose with grayish brown or yellowish hairs, or sometimes subglabrous. Leaves imparipinnate, 14 36 cm; petiole, rachis and petiolules pilose with appressed grayish-brown hairs, or glabrous; leaflets 3 9 ( 13), leathery to thickly leathery, oblong to ovate-oblong or oblong-obovate, elliptic, lanceolate, oblong-lanceolate to oblanceolate, 4.0 14.5 × 1.0 5.7 cm, glabrous on both surfaces, sometimes vernicose adaxially, sometimes glaucous or pilose along mid-vein abaxially, apex acute to acuminate, obtuse or retuse, base rounded, broadly cuneate to cuneate or somewhat obtuse. (GBIF) <br>The initial assemblies for <i>Ormosia semicastrata</i> were 1,511,766,959 bp. GenomeScope estimations using a k-mer size 21 revealed repeat contents of 63.4%, and heterozygosity rates of 2.05% for <i>O. semicastrata</i>. After incorporating Hi-C data, the assembly sizes of <i>O. semicastrata</i> were refined to 1,510,687,319 bp. The assembly achieved 8 chromosome-level scaffolds, which accounted for 99.97% of the total in <i>O. semicastrata</i>. In <i>O. semicastrata</i>, the completeness score was 96.3% (89.6% complete and single-copy, 6.7% complete but duplicated), with 1.4% fragmented and 2.3% missing genes.
