Molecular data support Bombus sonorus and Bombus pensylvanicus as distinct species

This dataset includes photographic vouchers of 154 of the 166 bumble bee
specimens that were collected in 2016 across the state of Texas for the
purpose of genetic analyses of the taxonomic status of Bombus sonorus.
Double digest restriction enzyme associated DNA sequencing (ddRADseq) was
performed on all specimens (58 B. sonorus and 108 B. pensylvanicus), and a
portion of the mitochondrial COI gene was sequenced for a subset of the
specimens (46 B. sonorus and 32 B. pensylvanicus). Additionally, a
spreadsheet containing further information about each specimen is
included.  Double digest restriction enzyme associated DNA
sequencing (ddRADseq) was performed on all specimens (58 *B. sonorus and
108 B. pensylvanicus), and a portion of the *mitochondrial COI gene was
sequenced for a subset of the specimens (46 B. sonorus and 32 B.
pensylvanicus). The ddRADseq VCF and COI sequence alignment files are also
included here.
