Authors: Matteo Merlo, Lukas Hartung, Christian Eitzinger Affiliation: PROFACTOR GmbH Contact: matteo.merlo@profactor.at Description:This dataset comprises high-resolution images of various commercially available flax fiber fabric, acquired for the purpose of evaluating fiber orientation. The fabric images are non-defective and free from visual anomalies such as wrinkles, folds, or shadows. The imaging was performed in a controlled laboratory environment to ensure consistency and reproducibility. Image Acquisition:Each fabric sample was mounted on a rotation platform and photographed every 30 degrees, covering a rotation from 0 to 180 degrees. This procedure was repeated on 9 spatially distinct regions for each sample, obtaining a good approximation of the variance in fabric texture. The camera was aligned perpendicular to the fabric surface, and uniform lighting was provided via a circular LED arrangement to eliminate directional shadows and ensure homogeneous illumination. In the initial frame, yarns are aligned horizontally and are considered to have approximately 0° inclination. The field of view in each image corresponds to an area of approximately 2 cm × 2 cm of the fabric.
