Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Rossendale Road, Burnley, Lancashire, 2024 to 2025

This collection consists of images, GIS and site record data from an archaeological trial trench evaluation by Oxford Archaeology. Work occurred on Land South of Rossendale Road, Burnley, Lancashire from October 2024 to January 2025. Twenty-five trenches were investigated, of which only one, Trench 24, was found to contain archaeological features, likely a boundary ditch. This feature does not seem to relate to the geophysical anomaly it was targeting. No artefactual or environmental evidence was encountered on site. The lack of archaeological remains likely reflects the lack of activity on site.
