#Sonar Opinion Polls: #-------------------- #From August 1989 Sonar has carried out a number of opinion polls, i.e. surveys of attitudes and habits of life of the adult Danish population. The opinion polls have been carried out regularly in the period (approx. 10 times a year), and each opinion poll includes about six different subjects as well as the question of the respondent's voting intention at a hypothetical general election on the day of the interview. # The opinion polls have been carried out in collaboration with the daily paper Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten. The subjects for the individual opinion poll are agreed upon at a meeting between the editorial staff of Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten and Sonar; however, the wording of the questions is the sole responsibility of Sonar. # The following background information is included in the data material: #The household: #- Total number of persons #- Sex and age of the household members #- Type of dwelling #- Car in household #- Geocode-2 # #The respondent: #- Year of birth #- Sex #- Gainful employment #- Designation of occupation #- Membership of a trade organization #- If yes: Which organization #- Vote at the last general election #- Driving in own car # #Sonar Postal Surveys: #--------------------- #In addition to these opinion polls Sonar has carried out a number of postal surveys, often in connection with one of the individual opinion polls. # #The themes of this postal survey are: #When the respondent received the questionnaire; whether special circumstances may account for a delay; whether the respondent feels sufficiently informed of the consequences of a possible ratification of the Maastricht Treaty on European Union at the coming referendum; voting intention if the referendum was held today; expectations of the effect on the financial situation of the household and the economy of the country of a 'Yes' and a 'No', respectively, at the referendum; whether a 'Yes' at the referendum means a 'Yes' to a united Europe in a couple of years; whether Denmark at present spends too much or too little money on environmental protection; the largest environmental problem today; assessment of the environment in general; whether the tax and duty system ought to contain more environmental taxes; and whether the respondent is willing to pay a higher price for ecological goods
