Petasites japonicus total DNA sequencing

Petasites japonicus has found to have anti-inflammatory activity, while containing carcinogenic pyrrolizidine alkaloids. There were reports that P. japonicus was mistakenly incorporated into other herbs, so it is critical to develop molecular markers to accurately identify P. japonicus. In this study, we sequenced and assembled the complete chloroplast genome of P. japonicus, the first of the genus Petasites.
