In 1st Contest of Discovering the biodiversity of native potatoes in the community 52 ‘citizen scientists’ (48% female) from a highland region of Peru (Paucartambo) registered 803 records consisting of 737 unique ancestral varieties. For the monitoring of the biodiversity of native potatoes, the VarScout application was used, all the information and photos are shown through the WikiPapa platform (https://www.wikipapa.org/observaciones).
