International travel is important for the introduction of events of strains into naive geographic areas. ST239 is a highly virulent methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) clone predominant in Asia and we investigated the introduction of CC239 in Denmark between 2004-2016. Here, we investigated MRSA isolated from Danish patients with a recent history of international travel.
