This study provides a community profiling of marine eukaryotic phytoplankton through targeted sequencing of the V4 region of the 18S rRNA gene. It aims to demonstrate community shifts and seasonality associated with monsoonal changes in a tropical coastal area. Furthermore, it aims to uncover diversity of eukaryotic phytoplankton in a known mariculture-impacted area. This is the first report of HTS data of eukaryotic phytoplankton in Philippine waters.
