Data Statement for Article "Insight on the Rapid Reinforcement Mechanisms of Super Typhoon Yagi (2411) in the Tonkin Gulf"
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the research presented in the article titled “Insight on the Rapid Reinforcement Mechanisms of Super Typhoon Yagi (2411) in the Tonkin Gulf”. It includes the following materials necessary to reproduce the WRF simulations described in the paper: WRFOUT: The WRF model is a numerical weather prediction and atmospheric research model developed by organizations including the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) in the USA. WRF is open-source software and can be downloaded from https://github.com/wrf-model/WRF/releases. namelist.wps: namelist.wps is used for establishing the grids and incorporating initial and boundary conditions from FNL files. namelist.input: namelist used to create the idealized tropical cyclone simulation. The model configuration is specified through parameters contained within the namelist.input file, such as the boundary conditions, physics packages, and grid structure. OISST: The NOAA 1/4° Daily Optimum Interpolation Sea Surface Temperature (OISST) is a long term Climate Data Record that incorporates observations from different platforms (satellites, ships, buoys and Argo floats) into a regular global grid. Here, these data (i.e., sst_update) are used as inputs for the WRF simulations. These data are downloaded freely from https://rda.ucar.edu/datasets/. FNL:These NCEP FNL (Final) Operational Global Analysis data are available on the surface, at 26 mandatory (and other pressure) levels from 1000 millibars to 10 millibars, in the surface boundary layer and at some sigma layers, the tropopause and a few others. Parameters include surface pressure, sea level pressure, geopotential height, temperature, sea surface temperature, soil values, ice cover, relative humidity, u- and v- winds, vertical motion, vorticity and ozone. NCEP FNL is one of the most commonly used datasets to drive WRF model. These data are downloaded freely from https://rda.ucar.edu/datasets/. CMA: Real-time typhoon track and intensity CMA data from https://typhoon.nmc.cn/web.html. JMA: The real-time typhoon track and intensity JMA data used as a control for the simulation results were obtained from https://www.jma.go.jp/jma/menu/menureport.html. ERA5: ERA5, the latest ECMWF reanalysis, provides a comprehensive record of the global atmosphere, land surface, and ocean waves. This data was used to analyze regional environments in the Tonkin Gulf during summer (June‒September), including the wind fields at the isobar surface at 850 hPa and the vertical integral water vapor flux between 1000 hPa and 300hPa. They are freely downloaded from https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/datasets. OSTIA: The OSTIA global sea surface temperature reprocessed product provides daily gap-free maps of foundation sea surface temperature and ice concentration (referred to as an L4 product) at 0.05deg. x 0.05deg. horizontal grid resolution, using in-situ and satellite data. This product provides the foundation Sea Surface Temperature, which is the temperature free of diurnal variability. This data is used to analyze the mean sea surface temperature of the regional environments in the Tonkin Gulf during summer (June‒September). These data are downloaded freely from https://data.marine.copernicus.eu/product/SST_GLO_SST_L4_NRT_OBSERVATIONS_010_001/description. Sensitivity experiment: The wrflowinp file and the maximum wind speed, heat flux, mean thermodynamic efficiency for conducting sensitivity experiments has been uploaded.
