VPRS 14297 Memoranda

This series consists of workbooks created for their own personal reference by officers of the Department of Crown Lands and Survey (VA 538) to assist them with effectively carrying out their duties.Consignment P1 - Occupation BranchUnits 1 and 2 consist of handwritten and pasted entries, which are primarily memoranda and orders. They contain directions on administration procedures, opinions relating to sections of the Land Acts, leaseholds, and licences, and notes relating to the issuing of grants and licences. Unit 1 includes a checklist for the weekly report of work on land for Beechworth and Omeo. Unit 2 contains a similar checklist for Stawell, Ararat, and Horsham.Consignment P2 - Seymour Land OfficeUnit 1 is divided into sections, such as Auriferous, Permits, Survey Fees, and Closer Settlement. Each section contains memoranda and ministerial orders relating to that topic.Consignment P3Unit 1 consists of letters, memos, and forms concerning the procedures surrounding the submission of Orders-in-Council and in connection with regulations for Public Reserves.
