This research project aims to investigate useful substances biosynthesized by cyanobacteria isolated from hot springs in Thailand. Cyanobacteria are photosynthetic microorganisms, and can synthesize various organic compounds using carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Cyanobacteria are distributed all over the world, both in water and on land, and accumulate various organic compounds within their cells depending on their habitat.
