README: Dataset of EU Policy Documents Related to Food Systems

Dataset Overview----------------This dataset contains 358 policy documents related to food systems governance in the EU, retrieved from EUR-Lex. The dataset includes metadata on policy characteristics, thematic focus, and network participation, supporting an analysis of how EU policies address different elements of the Farm to Fork Strategy and broader food system transformation.

File Format------------ File Name: list_of_policies.csv- Format: Comma-separated values (CSV)- Number of Rows: 358 (one per policy document)- Number of Columns: 12

Column Descriptions-------------------1. ID (string):    - Unique identifier for each policy document in the dataset (e.g., P1, P2, P3).

2. Celex (string):    - Official CELEX number assigned to each legal act in the EUR-Lex database, providing a unique reference.   - Example: "31978R1391" refers to a Commission Regulation from 1978.

3. Title (string):    - Full title of the policy document as listed in EUR-Lex.   - Example: "Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1391/78 of 23 June 1978 laying down amended rules for the application of      the system of premiums for the non-marketing of milk and milk products and for the conversion of dairy herds".

4. Date (string in DD/MM/YYYY format):    - Date of adoption of the policy act.

5. Directory_code (string):    - The EUR-Lex directory code indicating the policy domain under which the document is classified.   - Possible values:      - "Agriculture (03)"     - "Fisheries (04)"     - "Environment, consumers and health protection (15)"   - Example: "Environment, consumers and health protection (15)".

6. Food_system_elements (string):    - The main thematic area of the food system addressed by the policy document.   - Example: "Sustainable Food Production".

7. Number_of_topics (integer):    - Number of different food system-related thematic areas covered in the policy document.   - Example: 1 (indicates that the policy focuses on one main topic).

8. Detected_keywords (string):    - Keywords detected in the policy text related to food systems, derived from an automated text-mining process.   - Example: "livestock (11); crop rotat (2)" indicates that the keywords "livestock" (appearing 11 times)      and "crop rotation" (appearing twice) were identified in the policy text.

9. Detected_keyword_frequency (integer):    - Total number of detected keywords related to food systems within the policy document.   - Example: 32 (indicating that food-related keywords appeared 32 times in the document).

10. Resource_URL (string):     - Direct link to the policy document on EUR-Lex for further reference.    - Example: "http://publications.europa.eu/resource/cellar/23139213-e7f8-48c4-9b05-10cba580a265".

11. In_citation_net (string, "Yes" / "No"):     - Indicates whether the document is part of the citation network analysis.    - "Yes" means the policy is included in the citation network.

12. In_co_occurrence_net (string, "Yes" / "No"):     - Indicates whether the document is part of the co-occurrence network analysis.    - "Yes" means the policy is included in the co-occurrence network.

Usage Notes------------ This dataset supports analysis of EU food system policies, including their thematic scope, keyword prevalence,   and structural positioning within citation and co-occurrence networks.- The "Resource_URL" column allows direct access to each document for further policy examination.- Policies included in the "In_citation_net" and "In_co_occurrence_net" columns have been analyzed as part of the   network analysis in the study.
