Generally, it is clear that bacteriophages have a considerable array of potential applications as novel antibacterial agents in food industries. To develop and evaluate of new strategies for the control of Salmonella in food, the anti-Salmonella bacteriophages were isolated from the samples of domestic sewage and livestock farm excreta. However, it is generally agreed that all newly isolated phages which are to be used for controlling pathogens in food should be characterized in detail prior to use and this should include: genome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis. Hence, the complete BPS11Q3 genome was sequenced to understand more knowledges about its genetic backgrounds.
