Site Images and GIS Data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Chinalls Close, Finmere, Cherwell, Oxfordshire, August 2022

This collection consists of site images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation at Chinalls Close, Finmere, Cherwell, Oxfordshire. The works were conducted by Cotswold Archaeology in August 2022. Archaeological features were identified in 8 trenches. Furrows of possible post-medieval date; four undated ditches and a pit; and a further ditch containing possible Late Iron Age pottery were recorded. The results of the evaluation correlated well with the geophysical survey, with the exception of the south-western part of the site, where concentration of naturally occurring gravel were originally interpreted as putative prehistoric features.
