The following R script were developed to perform demographic analysis for an Araucaria angustifolia population, from Caçador municipality, Brazil. The original data was provided from Paludo et al. 2016.
In the paper we perform harvesting simulations for timber and seed harvesting, including four different scenarios: Scenario 1 (control) simulated the absence of harvesting, assessing population responses without direct anthropogenic interference, however, indirect effects from historical deforestation in the surrounding area may still occur. Scenario 2 involved timber harvesting targeting only mature individuals. Scenario 3 involved timber harvesting targeting individuals in both immature and mature stages. Scenario 4 involved seed harvesting from mature individuals.

The demographic analysis consist of deterministic population growth rate for the control scenario; stochastic population growth rate for scnearios 2, 3, and 4; and elasticity analysis for the control scenario.
