资源简介:

Version 2.1, including energy_hydration_reconstruction_v2.pdf + AndreasWillBarcelonaRun061019.gpx + AndreasWillBarcelonaBike061019.gpxPersonal race data from the IRONMAN World Championship, Kailua-Kona, 8 October 2022 plus IRONMAN Barcelona 2019, 6 October 2019, (Hawaii 2022: bike Garmin Edge 520 Plus with Garmin Vector, run Apple Watch Series 7; Barcelona 2019: bike Garmin Edge 520 Plus with Garmin Vector 3, run Garmin Forerunner 935), together with exports from Garmin Connect and Strava, cardiopulmonary exercise testing with lactate diagnostics from May 2022, and two race photographs. Background: I qualified at IRONMAN Barcelona 2019 in 10:02 h; the Hawaii slot was deferred to 2022 because of COVID-19. Achilles tendinopathy prevented run training for the six weeks before the race, and my plan was to run conservatively from the first step. Aged 58 in the M55-59 age group, I finished in 12:03 h (within the 48th percentile of age group M55-59).CORRECTION TO THE DESCRIPTION PUBLISHED WITH VERSION 1.0The earlier description stated that a 2.5 km walking segment in the Energy Lab was planned, that the Energy Lab was the hottest section of the run course, and that running then continued to the finish line. Re-analysis of the GPS recording does not support these statements, and they are withdrawn. At a walking threshold of 2.0 m/s the marathon recording contains 17 walking bouts, not one. The sustained bout ran from km 22.80 to km 25.85, covering 3.06 km in 31.7 min at 1.61 m/s. Running was resumed approximately 160 m before the Energy Lab turnaround, not after it. Four further bouts follow, at km 27.1, 34.4, 36.7 and 39.3. Because the recording contradicts the recollection on the turnaround, no claim about intent is made. The Energy Lab is the most radiatively exposed section of the run course, but it was not the section of the highest wet-bulb globe temperature.ASSOCIATED PUBLICATIONS1. Population study, with R. Lepers and B. Knechtle: "Heat, wind, and the calendar: why a warming climate makes its performance effects unidentifiable at the IRONMAN World Championship". Under peer review at Scientific Reports. Preprint: https://doi.org/10.51224/SportRxiv.9032. Case report, based on the data in this record. Current version (v2): "Same regulatory shape, different mode: pacing regulation in one masters triathlete across two IRONMAN marathons under contrasting environmental load". In preparation for submission to a peer-reviewed journal. Superseded version (v1): "Environmental load, pacing regulation, and walk-to-run reproducibility in a masters endurance athlete across two IRONMAN races".
