Dataset of global academic productivity in the emergency medicine field (2004-2024)

The dataset has two tables:
1) "Main dataset.xlsx" contains 162,338 records of papers (article, editorial, letter, note, review, short survey) published between January 2004 and September 2024 in Scopus-indexed journals of the Emergency Medicine subject area (except journals without impact metrics). Each document record includes the document title, publication year, citation count, document link, language of original document, journal title, journal quartile and CiteScore, country of origin (determined based on the primary institutional affiliation of the first author), country's world region and income level (based on the classification of the World Bank; The World Bank Group, Washington, District of Columbia, USA). The country of origin data are available for 154,458 document records.
2) "Country-level data.xlsx" presents counts of publications, citations, publications in 1st quartile journals, cumulative CiteScore, and a range of socioeconomic characteristics (Source: the World Bank’s World Development Indicators database) for individual countries.
