Replication materials for "Closed for the holidays: why the annual cycle of protest is institutional, not thermal"
收藏资源简介:
Replication materials for a study of the annual cycle of protest across 159 countries and 28 years. Contains all analysis code, every derived aggregate reported in the paper, all five figures in PNG and vector PDF, and the manuscript. The substantive data contribution is data/school_calendars.csv, a compilation of school holiday start and end dates for 66 countries with a source tier and note for each, drawn from Eurydice and national ministry sources. The month indicators used in the models are not stored but derived from these dates by a fixed rule, so a corrected date is sufficient to correct the analysis. ACLED and Mass Mobilization Project source files are not redistributed. ACLED's terms restrict redistribution; MMP is CC0 but has a canonical DOI. README.md gives free download instructions for both. Includes verify_manuscript.py, which asserts 67 headline numbers in the manuscript against the JSON files that produced them.
