The Norwegian Mapping Authority’s historical maps are both part of the agency’s own archive from its inception in 1773, and collection based on other actors’ mapping from as early as the 17th century. Historical maps can be useful for historians, geologists and other fields related to demographics, administrative boundaries and place names. Here you have the possibility to download individual maps from the Norwegian Mapping Authority’s access solution for historical maps, and see the first-time financial map works such as wms.
