This dataset accompanies the manuscript “Horizontal and vertical gene transfer jointly shape the realized plasmid host range in surface-associated microbial systems” by Takahashi et al. It contains the source data and analysis codes used to generate the main and supplementary figures. The study combines surface-associated conjugation experiments with individual-based simulations to disentangle the contributions of horizontal gene transfer (HGT) and vertical gene transfer (VGT) to plasmid host range and diversity.The dataset is organized by figure, with each folder containing both the processed data and the analysis scripts necessary to reproduce the corresponding plots. A readME.txt file is included to guide users through the dataset structure and usage.
