Light, Assistant Chief of Organ Transplant Service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Col. Light discusses perfusion induced immune injury associated with organ preservation. While organ preservation has provided a breakthrough in expanding transplantation, it is important to avoid damaging the kidneys. Failure to do so may result in rejection of a kidney after autografting. A slideshow presents case data and photographs of perfused and transplanted tissue.
