Issa Nicola Nasrallah (born in 1903, from Beit Jala) interviewed by Yousef al-Qury. He discusses the following: locust plague and how it covered the land and the sky; onset of drought led to poverty, hunger and spread of disease; ‘seferberlik’ – Ottoman military conscription – and the Ottoman system of forced labour; education was only in Turkish.
