Ecological Continuity Ranking Segment — Métropole

An Ecological Continuity Classification corresponds to all or part of a course or channel identified in an order made by the prefect coordinator of the basin in accordance with Article L.214-17 of the Environmental Code. The classification in List 1 (1° of Section I of Article L. 214-17 of the Environmental Code) is intended to protect certain watercourses from degradation and makes it possible to display a long-term preservation objective. They cancel, replace, and complete the classification as “reserved rivers” under the 1919 Act. List 2 (2) of Article L. 214-17 of Article L. 214-17 of the Environmental Code, annuls, replaces and completes the concept of “rivers classified” under L. 432-6 of the Environmental Code, must make it possible to quickly ensure the compatibility of existing works with the objectives of ecological continuity. The Ecological Continuity Ranking contributes, among other things, to the blue frame. The founding regulatory text of an Ecological Continuity Classification is the classification order signed by the prefect coordinator of the basin in accordance with the procedure defined by Article R.214-10 of the Environmental Code providing for departmental consultation of classification projects before validation by the prefect coordinator of the basin. After consultation at departmental level, the Prefect of Department shall forward to the Basin Committee a preliminary draft Lists L.214-17-I for advisory opinion with a view to classification under L.214-17-I. Once the opinion of the basin committee has been obtained, the prefect coordinating basin decides whether or not to proceed with the classification. The Classification of Ecological Continuity corresponds to the information mentioned in the classification orders. An Ecological Continuity Ranking Segment corresponds to the lowest level of composition of Ecological Continuity Rankings. It allows the link to the national hydrographic repository. The limit to the sea is the transverse limit of the sea.
