Synthesis of Ph<sub>3</sub>PO-stabilized Mo(V) and (VI) imido complexes

The coordination chemistry of Ph<sub>3</sub>PO with Mo(V) and (VI) complexes is relatively unexplored, especially in terms of the reactivity of the known compounds [Mo<sup>V</sup>OCl<sub>3</sub>(OPPh<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>] (<b>1</b>) and [Mo<sup>VI</sup>O<sub>2</sub>Cl<sub>2</sub>(OPPh<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub>] (<b>2</b>) for imido complexes. Therefore, in this study, we synthesized and characterized the novel molybdenum imido complexes Mo<sup>V</sup>(NAr)Cl<sub>3</sub>(OPPh<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub> (<b>3</b>), Mo<sup>VI</sup>(NAr)<sub>2</sub>Cl<sub>2</sub>(OPPh<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub> (<b>4</b>), and Mo<sup>VI</sup>(NAr)OCl<sub>2</sub>(OPPh<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub> (<b>5</b>) (where Ar = 2,6-diisopropylaniline). Their x-ray structures and bench-stability are discussed.
