Plucked scalp hair follicle samples are useful RNA sources for mRNA analysis of genodermatosis-associated genes

Using RNA samples extracted from plucked hair follicles and skin samples, we conducted comprehensive RNA sequencing and evaluated expression levels of 347 genes causative of genodermatoses. Overall design: We extracted total RNAs from six skin specimens (non-lesional skin samples excised at the time of skin tumor excision) and five pulled scalp hairs of healthy volunteers.
