资源简介:
This dataset contains all data supporting the article: Vanderghinste P., Bautil A., Simmonds, S. J., Apajalahti, J., Bedford M. R., González-Ortiz G., Courtin C. M. Extensive particle size reduction of wheat bran increases the broiler’s caecal fermentative capacity in vivo, but not bran fermentability ex vivo. The study describes an ex vivo fermentation experiment using broiler caecal inocula. Different bran sizes were added to the ex vivo simulation and to the feed of the broilers later used for their inocula, to study the effect of particle size on bran fermentability and on the fermentative capacity of the caecal microbiome. These results can be used to define an optimal fibre particle size when aiming to improve caecal fibre fermentation and its associated benefits in broilers.
