Bacterial diversity and biogeographical patterns in Arctic soils. Microbial Biogeography of Arctic soils

This study investigated microbial diversity and biogeographical patterns in Arctic soils. With 200 sampling sites equivalent to 386 DNA samples, this is the largest study of its kind. We aimed to evaluate the influence of environmental conditions known to impact global microbial communities, on bacterial diversity in the Arctic region. We identified specialist, generalist and indicator taxa, to evaluate the impact of dispersal and environmental factors on the structure of these communities.
