This project investigates plant endosphere metagenomes of leaf and root tissues from 10 Rhododendron species collected along an elevational gradient in Linzhi, Xizang (southeastern Tibetan Plateau, China). Three individual plants (>=50 m apart) were sampled per species. Leaves were collected from four cardinal directions and pooled, and fine roots (<1 mm) were aseptically collected, yielding 60 tissue samples in total. Amplicon sequencing was performed on an Illumina MiSeq platform (paired-end), targeting the bacterial 16S rRNA gene, the fungal ITS1 region, and the nitrogenase nifH gene. Raw demultiplexed FASTQ files are provided for downstream analyses of tissue- and host-associated microbiome variation.
