10 outputs, 7 inputs, 7000 observations. This data consists of simulated rate stick experiments for PBX 9501, a commonly-studied high explosive (HE), with various jacket materials. Rate stick experiments, or cylinder tests, are carried out by detonating a cylindrical stick of HE surrounded by a metal jacket. Photon Doppler velocimetry (PDV) diagnostics are used to measure the liner velocity at various axial locations to track the progress of the detonation. These 2D experiments were simulated using LANL’s free Lagrangian hydrodynamics (FLAG) code (Crowley (2005), Burton (2007)). For 14 different jacket materials (with fixed EoS, strength, damage and melt models), a rate stick experiment is performed for PBX 9501 under 500 different settings of the 6-dimensional JWL equation of state (Lee, Hornig, and Kury (1968)). The response includes the velocity and displacement of the jacket linear, as measured by the 5 PDV probes, 8 microseconds after detonation.
